Connected to our community
At BDO Dutch Caribbean, we believe that strong organisations are built within strong communities. Guided by our purpose — People helping people — we actively contribute to the places where we live and work across Curaçao, Bonaire, and Sint Maarten.
One of our core pillars is Fit for BDO. Fit for Life.
To honor this, we support initiatives that promote health, wellbeing, and balance, including sporting and wellness events such as the BDO Half Marathon in Curaçao and Sint Maarten. We recognise that wellbeing goes beyond physical health, mental health is an essential part of a healthy life, and we support initiatives that encourage awareness, resilience, and balance.
Alongside this, we give back by supporting local NGOs and community initiatives that align with our values and contribute positively to society. Each year, we make deliberate choices about where and how we contribute, ensuring our support is meaningful, relevant, and aligned with who we are as an organisation.
Sustainability at BDO
Sustainability matters to us because the decisions organisations make today shape the world of tomorrow. At BDO, sustainability is guided by our purpose — People helping people — and reflects our responsibility to our clients, our people, our communities, and the wider society.
Our approach to sustainability focuses on understanding our impact, acting responsibly, and supporting long‑term value creation. This includes how we operate as a firm, how we advise our clients, and how we respond to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) expectations.
We recognise the growing need for transparency, accountability, and informed decision‑making. For BDO and for the clients we serve, sustainability is about identifying risks early, managing them responsibly, and recognising opportunities to build resilient, future‑ready organisations.
In everything we do, we aim to contribute thoughtfully and responsibly for our people, our clients, and the communities we are part of.
Our commitment to Net-Zero
BDO is leading by example: as a member of the Net-Zero Financial Service Providers Alliance (NZFSPA), the BDO global network has committed to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 or sooner, in alignment with the Paris Agreement.

This sponsorship reflects our Fit for Life. Fit for BDO. Value, our belief that healthy organisations start with healthy people. We actively promote physical movement, mental and physical wellbeing, and moments where communities come together with a shared sense of purpose.
The BDO Half Marathon is more than a sporting event. It brings people together, encourages balance and resilience, and highlights the importance of taking care of both body and mind, values we actively support within our teams and the wider community.
